Water Testing

The Summit School will be testing the water in the building for lead. All schools in the state will have their water tested eventually, but the Summit School will be one of the first with the help of a grant. With this grant, the school may be able to receive funding to help remove or replace any faucets, water fountains or pipes made with lead.

Professionals will take samples of our water that is used for drinking and/or cooking. Two samples will be taken: the first will test to see if any lead is in water that has been sitting in the fixture, and the second will test the pipe leading to the fixture. The samples will be tested at an EPA approved lab and the results will be shared with the school. Any action taken will be based on the results of the tests.
