Dear Summit School Families,
I hope this letter finds you enjoying your summer and taking advantage of the final days before the hustle and bustle of practices & school days are upon us! I am writing on behalf of the Summit Booster Club to invite you to our upcoming meeting in hopes of finding more volunteers to help out with fundraising efforts to be donated back to our students & staff of the Summit School.
The Booster Club currently does two types of fundraising. We sell advertisements to local businesses and Booster Backers that are included in the programs for all home sporting events in both Summit & Waubay. And we also run the concession stand at the home sporting events in Summit. Families volunteer to work an event during the school year as their contribution for their student and the funds they receive throughout that year. We like to have one Booster Club member available for any questions and as a go to person for help at each event.
Currently the Booster Club is comprised of just five individuals, all of which are currently employed at some level by the school. This is great when things need to happen at the school in a timely manner, but at times can make it difficult when voting on donations for their own students, classrooms, & at times, their own children. Having more individuals to be included on voting, brainstorming, & available to help in concessions during athletic events would make the Booster Club an even stronger group aimed at giving back to the Summit School.
The following is a list of just some of the things the Summit Booster Club has donated towards:
-Student & Staff of the Month -Homecoming floats PK-12th
-Prom & After Prom -Title Program PK-8
-Elementary AR Parties -Funding for class field-trip treats & meals
- National Honor Society -National History Day competition expenses
-CPR Classes -Teacher Meal during PT conferences
-State Testing Incentives -Charter Buses for long distance regional games
-Music, Band, & Chorus PK-12 -Summer Sports Camps 2nd-12th
-Backpack Program -Sound System for Drama Department
-Playground equipment -Concession supplies for summer baseball
Please join us for a meeting Thursday, August 6th at 6:00 in the Summit lunch room! This will be a time to answer any questions you might have & hopefully interest you enough to become a part of a great opportunity to serve our Summit students & staff! Snacks & refreshments will be served!
Sincerely,
Lisa Amdahl
